This course is aimed at the beginners who just want to know enough to get started in amateur astronomy. It will cover how to follow and observe the night sky, how to choose and use a telescope – or even binoculars – and where to go next as your skills and knowledge improve.

Astronomy is a very wide subject and now covers sciences not even dreamt of 100 years ago. But the basics remain the same.

Class begins Monday 16-01-2023 at 19:30 - 21:30 in room BO59. The classes run for 8 weeks.
No equipment is needed but if you have equipment you are encouraged to bring it.
