Cantairí Mhúscraí, the Ballincollig based choir was founded in late 1973, this mixed voice choir has had a long and illustrious history, performing all over Ireland and also at many festivals and events abroad. These trips included U.K. (4 times), France (3 times), Italy (4 times), Greece (2 times), Austria & Spain.
The choir rehearses every Wednesday in Ballincollig Community School from 7.30 – 9.00 p.m. and draws its repertoire from a wide range of music – classical, Irish and popular pieces. The current Musical Director is Ger Goodwin. The choir welcomes’ new singers in all ladies’ and men’s lines, without formal audition. Ability to read music is not essential, they just need singers who can hold a tune and blend into the overall sound.
There is no requirement to pre-register online or by phone. Just show up on the night! Fee per term is 93€ per person, payable directly to the choir. This includes an 8€ administration fee which is payable to the School.
